Post your MSC or Mindfulness training have you found living a mindful and compassionate life more challenging than you thought? Finding discernment when it comes to our compassionate actions can be complicated. We all know that feeling of giving too much, or feeling confused about how to meet the needs of others and ourselves at times. That feeling of being lost somewhere between acceptance of how things are and striving for them to be different.
We are subject to so much suffering in our society these days, ours, our loved ones and also on a global level. Married with this are so many expectations placed upon us. Without the clarity and insights that mindfulness and self-compassion bring chronic overwhelm or resentment is an all too real possibility.
Learn practices that are evidenced based and deepen into some thoughtful inner reflections to live a more authentic and compassionate life. Understanding our shared human needs and our limitations can enable us to stay loving and present without burning out or becoming over-whelmed. Through the increased clarity mindfulness can bring and by including one's self in the flow of compassion we more easefully stay present with ourselves and others through both the easy and difficult times.
Completion of a Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) program or Mindfulness program such as the Month of Mindfulness, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) or Mindfulness Based Stress Reducation (MBSR) is essential.

Details of the Workshop:
MSC: Inner Resiliency Training is an adapted workshop tailored toward the use of mindfulness and self-compassion practices in the caring setting. This brief training aims to improve wellbeing and emotional resilience by teaching skills to use with distressing emotional situations as they occur.
As opposed to other self-care techniques, MSC practices can be used on the spot while at work with patients / clients and colleagues, like learning to breathe under water. Participating in this workshop you will learn tools to utilize throughout the workday and your everyday life to:
• Care for you while caring for others.
• Handle difficult emotions with greater ease.
• Be able to listen receptively with compassion to self and others.
• Reconnect to the values that give your life and work meaning.
MSC Inner Resilience Training is a shortened adapted version of the 8-week MSC developed by Dr Kristin Neff and Dr Chris Germer. The structure is either 1 x 6-hour workshop or 6 x 60-minute sessions. The focus is on the core informal MSC skills. These skills, although requiring an intentional daily effort to integrate do not require extra time or formal meditation practice. The design of this workshop in itself is a compassionate response to address the fact that people working in the caring professions are often time poor and exhausted in the work they do to care for others.
Tina Gibson is a Certified MSC Teacher, and Australia\'s only Teacher Trainer and Mentor. She was granted Certification in 2015 by the Mindfulness-Based Professional Teaching Institute, University of California San Diego. Her teaching brings understanding, humour, warmth and honesty coming from years of teaching and practicing compassion-based mindfulness and working within our health system.
